About MLOTC
The Muskegon Lakeshore Obedience Training Club is a nonprofit organization affiliated with the United Kennel Club (UKC) and located in Muskegon, MI. We conduct classes, demonstrations, matches, and sanctioned shows in all-breed obedience, conformation, agility, rally, canine good citizen testing, draft work, and water rescue. We also visit area schools to educate children about dog care and training and visit area homes with our Therapy dogs.
The objectives of the club are to:
- Further the advancement of responsible ownership of dogs
- Conduct classes in dog training for obedience, conformation, and agility
- Conduct matches and shows in obedience, all-breed conformation, and agility
- Conduct UKC licensed obedience trials, multi-breed conformation shows and agility trials in adherence to the rules and policies set forth by the United Kennel Club
Membership is open to all people 18 years old and older.
Junior membership is open to people 10 to 18 years old.
MLOTC offers 8-week obedience classes 4 times a year – January, March, May, and September. The classes are held during the week. The summer classes are 6 weeks long and held only on Wednesday evenings. Agility classes are offered in Spring, Summer, and Fall in six week long classes. When interest is high, the MLOTC offers classes in canine good citizen, draft work, and water rescue as well.
MLOTC monthly meetings are open to the public.

The MLOTC offers fun activities for the public such as:
- ~
- Mayfest at Muskegon Community College-demonstrations in agility, obedience, cart pulling, conformation, grooming and general healthcare of your dog.
- Temperament Testing – performed the first Sunday in May
- Education Programs in area elementary schools
MLOTC is a unique opportunity to share the love we have for our dogs with other owners who share the same devotion to their canine companions, along with an opportunity for our dogs to participate in many activities with us.
